Shared a medium Lou Pizza, the Malnati Salad, and the calamari appetizer. OUTSTANDING food and service. This location is just as great quality as the Wells St location. Interesting to have the "Italian brick basement" type feel, but when you look out of the windows, you realize you're in the second floor. The illusion is really convincing.
Food arrived quickly, even quicker than we were told and anticipated, and was cooked perfectly and cut at our table by our awesome server Zoe. Pizza was stuffed with quality ingredients and topped with mouth-watering mozzarella.
We got there for lunch at 11:15/11:30 and we're lucky enough to get a table immediately, but the restaurant filled up FAST. Highly recommended that you go as earlier as possible to avoid a very lengthy wait.
We will definitely be back!!
Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on Michigan Ave. In Chicago is a great place to try a Chicago staple food - Deep Dish Pizza.
The Chicago Classic sausage version was tasty and flavorful. Be sure to order the version with the buttery crust.
The atmosphere was the cozy type of place you might expect in Chicago, but if you kids in two, it might be a bit tight at this location for kids that tend to move about at times.
The dining area is located downstairs from the main entrance, but there is an elevator in case you need it.
The wait was short, and you can get a drink from the bar while you wait.
The service was fast and friendly and the server knew the menu very well and provided good suggestions.
One of the best pizzas I have ever had! Located in the Wrigley building is this cozy basement restaurant with a bar and a menu full of great options. I had never been to a Lou's before so we went with their signature pizza and it exploded with flavor from the first bite! Definitely try Lou's if you are in town and need some Chicago style pizza.
